#RobinsTechnology Corner #5: WWDC 2017 – iMac Pro, iPad Pro 10.5″, HomePod, iOS 11 and High Sierra!

Apple has never presented so much information and new products at WWDC in such a short time. At the annual developer conference around Apple, Tim Cook and iOS, new software products and new hardware products are presented to the masses every year. There was a lot to see this year: iOS 11, a new Watch OS, new iPads, HomeKit products and a new iMac!

Let's start with: software!

AppleTV

Rather unspectacular, but it should still be mentioned: Amazon is bringing PrimeVideo to the Apple TV with an app!

macOS High Sierra

The next operating system for Apple's hardware will be the expansion of the Sierra operating system. The system runs even more reliably and is even faster than before thanks to the new APFS (Apple File System) file system. Safari blocks automatic video starts and prevents ad tracking.

Apple Watch: watchOS 4

Apple is focusing even more on fitness. In watchOS 4, the Apple Watch connects to a treadmill or other fitness equipment via NFC and synchronizes incoming data with Apple Health. There are also new watch faces, including one that displays location- and interest-specific information - exciting!

iOS 11

Greatly anticipated and now presented: iOS 11! Everything will be a bit more colorful, faster and there will be a bunch of new functions and designs!

Apple has completely revised the AppStore and has exclusive apps selected by the Apple team in the “Today” area that are particularly worth downloading.

Particularly interesting: Apple makes augmented reality possible for developers. In addition, the lock screen, AirPlay (can now play multiple speakers at once!) and the control center have been completely revised. There is even more for the iPad: drag & drop for various apps, a file manager and the multitasking overview has been changed.

But not only a lot happened in terms of software yesterday: also a lot of new things Hardware Apple presented yesterday, including minor updates to MacBooks such as Kaby Lake processors, better SSDs and a better graphics card (15″ only). The iMacs have remained basically the same, but now have two Thunderbolt 3 ports, brighter displays and also the Kaby Lake processors. Apple's largest iMac is now also virtual reality ready thanks to 64GB and the new processors with up to 80% more performance!

iMac Pro

iMac-Pro-1024x576-e269d3e8c6b95ce1 Nobody would have expected this: a completely new iMac will conquer the market in December. In a black design including a matching Num-Block keyboard and black MagicMouse, the Pro comes with four Thunderbolt-3 ports and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Up to 22 TeraFlops, 128GB RAM, 4TB SSD and much more are possible. In the standard configuration, the iMac costs $4,999 and, in our opinion, will probably go into the five-figure range with the full configuration.

iPad Pro

better_experience_large_2x Particularly interesting for us at KAVAJ: will there be new iPads? And yes! Apple has not only revised the 12.9″ iPad, which works with the new A10X chip (30% faster), but also brings True Tone and ProMotion to the new devices, which enables a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz.

In addition to the 12.9″ update, Apple also presented a new screen size, the iPad Pro 10.5″. The new iPads are no longer available in 32GB versions, Apple starts at 64, through 256 up to 512GB!

And, of course: we will have cases ready for you for the new versions!  More information is available below

HomePod

That's not all: Apple is now following suit! After Amazon's Alexa and Google's Home, Apple is also bringing an intelligent home assistant. But of course the HomePod can not only output the voice assistant Siri, but also functions as (according to Apple) a high-quality speaker via AirPlay.

London_Pro_97_Cognac_2 KAVAJ production also starts! As soon as we have the new 10.5 and 12.9 inch iPad Pros in our hands, our production will begin and we assume that you will to be able to provide cases for the new iPads at the end of June !
